Dr Andrea Tazbirkova is a Gold Coast based, Medical Oncologist, with practices at Pindara Private Hospital, ICON Cancer Care and John Flynn Private Hospital.
She treats a broad range of solid malignancies including urogenital, colorectal and lung and has a particular interest in breast and gynaecological cancers.
Dr Tazbirkova underwent her basic physician’s training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane and successfully passed the Royal Australasian College of Physicians examinations in 2009. She commenced her advanced training in medical oncology at The Canberra Hospital and subsequently rotated through most tertiary hospitals in Brisbane. She was granted the Fellowship of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians in the field of medical oncology in December 2012.
Dr Tazbirkova has always been passionate about research and new advances in the field of medical oncology. She is a co-investigator on a broad range of clinical trials. She was actively involved in early phase cell-based immunotherapy clinical trials at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research and the University of Queensland, presenting her work at multiple national and international meetings and published in peer review journals.
Dr Tazbirkova regularly attends multidisciplinary team meetings offering cancer patients a comprehensive and evidence-based approach to treatment and care, while ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
