Parenting Education

If you are wondering what antenatal classes are, what is covered, and what are the benefits of attending, you’ll find this video very informative.

TV presenter Jess Skarratt attended antenatal classes at Pindara Private Hospital before the birth of her first child. After her last class she sat down with her teacher Anne Cifuentes, midwife of 35 years.

Birth & Early Parenting Education - Gold Coast

Pindara's childbirth and parenting classes prepare you for the changes you will face and equip you with the skills to cope with these changes, as you transition into parenthood on the Gold Coast. Childbirth classes are also an ideal opportunity to meet other couples and develop a support network with others who are going through the same experiences.

Sessions cover a range of topics including pregnancy, labour, baby care and parenting skills. Everything taught is evidence-based and reviewed regularly to ensure you receive current and accurate information.

Classes are run by Pindara midwives who have many years experience in both maternity care and education. They will give all new 'parents to be' the opportunity to ask questions and consider all their options in a relaxed and informal environment.

Antenatal classes are provided in two modes:

  • Online mode with an option of one Face-to-Face class on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening. • Weekly Face-to-Face Class (5 week course)
  • Weekly Face-to-Face Class (5 week course)

Online Mode

Upon payment, access to the Online Module will be organised and you will be booked to attend one Face-to-Face class on a Thursday night at Pindara Private Hospital. It is recommended you complete the online module prior to attending this class.

Weekly Antenatal Classes

This 5 week course is held on a Tuesday & Wednesday night from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. At time of booking you will be advised of the location of the classes.

Class sizes are limited to a maximum of 10 couples.
