After completing medical school and his internship at hospitals around Cardiff, Wales, Dr Wilson developed an interest in paediatric medicine. He commenced paediatric specialisation at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend, and then Birmingham Children’s Hospital,UK, where he developed expertise in nephrology, neonatology and cardiology. This was followed by a year at Christchurch Hospital in New Zealand where he worked in general paediatrics and neonates. Dr Wilson completed his advanced training at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Brisbane (working in intensive care, neonatal intensive care and with metabolic conditions), in Mackay and Alice Springs.
