As a certified gynaecological oncologist, Dr Nascimento specialises in the surgical treatment of known or suspected tumours of the female genital tract.
He was one of the senior surgeons at the newly formed Peritonectomy Unit / Advanced Gynaecological Cancer Surgical Department at the Chris O`Brien Lifehouse / Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, where he worked in 2017. He is the Director of the Gynaecological Oncology Unit at the Gold Coast University Hospital and Associate Professor School of Medicine at the Griffith University.
He received his Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1996 and Board Certification in Surgical Oncology in 1999. He then completed 3 years of addtional training in gynaecological oncology in Brisbane and at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, in Sydney.
A/Prof Nascimento is the Head of the Gynaecologic Oncology Department at the Gold Coast University Hospital. He is also an Associate Professor at Griffith University Medical School since May 2014, actively contributing to the development of medical students in our community.
