Dr Michael Flynn graduated from the University of Queensland Medical School and commenced his internship at the Gold Coast Hospital. He then undertook specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology training both in Queensland and the United Kingdom.
Dr Flynn commenced private practice on the Gold Coast in 1998. His areas of expertise are Obstetrics (Pregnancy), Laparoscopic Surgery (Gynaecology and Women’s Health) and Fertility Management (IVF).
Dr Flynn believes Obstetrics is the most stressful and most rewarding of jobs and he has devoted the majority of his adult life to assisting couples to conceive and providing care during their pregnancy.
Throughout his career, Dr Flynn has been at the forefront of assisted reproductive technology and in 1998 was a founding partner of Fertility Gold Coast, which is now part of Queensland Fertility Group. In 2016, in conjunction with QFG and partners, he founded The Fertility Centre, an IVF clinic with a standardised protocol.
In his private practice, Dr Flynn has helped thousands of patients with a consistently high clinical pregnancy success rate, even with the most challenging of cases such as quadriplegic patients.
In conjunction with Prof. Judith Goh AO, Dr Flynn has written and updated “Examination Obstetrics and Gynaecology” used by most medical school campuses in Australia.
With advanced training in laparoscopic surgery, Dr Flynn regards this technique as having transformed the management of women's health. He regularly performs surgery for infertility, endometriosis, fibroids and chronic pelvic pain, as well as advanced laparoscopic techniques for prolapse, incontinence and hysterectomies.
