Dr Layt is a Specialist Plastic Surgeon with over 20 years experience in his field.
He graduated from the University of Queensland in 1988, and undertook his general surgery training at the Princess Alexandra, Mater and Greenslopes Hospitals in Brisbane, and the General Hospital in Townsville. He commenced his plastic and reconstructive training at the Royal Brisbane, the Princess Alexandra and Mater Hospitals.
Moving to Melbourne, Dr Layt then completed his fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons whilst working with a number of leading Plastic Surgeons in Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Children's Hospital, Austin and Repatriation Medical Centre and St Vincent's Hospital.
Since commencing private practice in 2001, Dr Layt has been actively involved in the post graduate education of Plastic Surgeons in the field of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and in the education of medical students and doctors training in the speciality of plastic surgery. He was the President of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons from 2010 until July 2012, and remains an active member today.
Dr Layt is currently based out of his private rooms at The Layt Clinic on the Gold Coast and in Ballina.
