WHERE ARTS MEET LIFE
On 6th February The Arts Centre Gold Coast unveiled its new
name and new look. Welcome to HOTA, Home of the Arts.
Surrounded by parklands and a lake with Surfers
Paradise as the backdrop, HOTA, Home of the
Arts is your place for live performances, lake-side
strolls, star-gazing, cinema-watching, art
and new-ideas. There’s a unique outdoor stage
for live events and a refreshed cafe for relaxing
and connecting. Plus, all your favourites, like
cinemas, theatres and gallery.
Discover art—indoors and out. HOTA is that
kind of place—where art meets life.
Real events, real people,
real experiences
To kick things off, HOTA presents a night with the
irrepressible Tim Minchin on March 17, in his first
Australian concert in years. It’s a rare opportunity
to see this brilliant showman and it’s free. To get
tickets, sign up to the HOTA ENews before 2am
Thursday 8th February (tick to receive emails from
HOTA and tick to receive the Fortnightly E-News).
At 9am on Thursday 8th February, you will receive
an email with a link to reserve tickets.
Tim will be followed by a line-up of
internationally renowned acts, including
classic pop from master craftsman Neil Finn
and multi-award winner and pioneer Laurie
Anderson in residency. The Concert for the
Planet will turn the Gold Coast into a classical
music soundscape and see our good friends
from Bleach, in a return season of The Spirit of
Churaki, as well as the QSO performing live on
stage under the stars.
Community, conversation and
creativity
HOTA’s brand-spanking new outdoor stage is
like no other. It’s at the heart of HOTA and will
be a magnet for world-class artists. We believe
in community, conversation and creativity,
so when we’re not presenting amazing live
performances, we’ll bring the parklands alive.
Experience dance or yoga on the green, parkrun
around the lake and our popular Sunday
farmer’s markets, all in one place.
Create, watch, learn, do. Be.
We’re now the home to the Gold Coast Film
Festival, and are working with The Farm,
Bleached Arts and The Walls. We offer freedom,
space and time to make something different. And
there are more opportunities to come.
HOTA is the home for all things creative. A
home that brings people together where ideas are
transformed into real life experiences. A place
where art makes the world a better place.
Our future is bright
We’re building momentum for a richer, deeper
arts and culture experience for the Gold Coast.
There’s so much more to come at HOTA,
Home of the Arts.
