Maritimo lead designer Tom Barry-Cotter, said the X60 was one of the
world’s most versatile sports motor yachts.
“The additional aft cabin is completely unique and is resonating with buyers
within the sport motor yacht market,” he said.
“Its ability to add extra accommodation space that is similar in size to an
additional master cabin in terms of volume, is clearly something special.”
Underneath the hand-crafted wood, fine leather and clever ergonomics
you’ll find the best in nautical design that ensures simplicity, efficiency and
cruisability. When it’s time for deep-water action you’ll find Maritimo’s
racing edge more than meets the demands of the sports and high-performance
island-hopping adventure.
With an efficient shaft-driven hull and driveline design, the X60 has been
tested at speeds up to 34 knots. The engine room features two huge Scania
925hp straight sixes, while the standard offering is a pair of Volvo Penta
D13-800s. Like the Scanias, these are also an inline six, of 12.8 litres, with
dual stage turbo and water-cooled exhaust manifold, along with twin-charge
air coolers. This will see the X60 comfortably make 30 knots. With superior
economy and greater fuel capacity than direct competitors, the X60’s range
capabilities are revolutionary within the sport motor yacht segment.
The X60 has captured the attention of leading marine feature writers,
including John Curnow, who witnessed the X60 at its world premiere at
Sanctuary Cove and took it for a spin in Sydney Harbour.
“For my part, this craft turns in so well, and is incredibly responsive,”
Curnow said.
“It combines the enjoyment of running a small speedboat, with the air and
grace of something like a W hotel. If you had to pick an automotive brand to
liken it to, then you are probably going to be looking at say a bit of Ferrari,
with a healthy serve of Aston Martin.”
The X50, the smaller sibling of the X60, will be revealed at the Sanctuary
Cove International Boat Show in 2019.
