Pindara is an aboriginal name meaning “high place”
| 1971 | Pindara was built by Allan and Gwen Ramsey. At the time the hospital offered approximately 50 beds and 3 operating theatres |
| 1986 | Australian Hospital Care Limited purchased Pindara |
| 1987 | First Private Emergency Department in Australia established |
| 1993 | Operating theatres were upgraded and the number increased from 4 to 5 |
| 1995 | 47 bed wing (Maternity/Surgical and medical beds) added |
| 1997/98 | Pindara Day Procedure Centre opened |
| 2000 | New 12 bed Critical Care Unit |
| 2001 | Purchased by Mayne Health |
| 2003 | Purchased by Affinity Health |
| 2004 | Building of Cardiac Cath Lab, new CSD, 6th operating theatre added |
| 2005 (April) | Purchased by Ramsay Health Care |
| 2006 (June) | Expansion of Neonatal Nursery from 4 to 16 cots |
| 2007 | East Wing Upgrade-refurbishment of 80 beds |
| 2008 (December) | Pindara Emergency Centre celebrates 21 years |
| 2009 | Commencement of Stage 1 major redevelopment project including

| 2010 (November) | Stage one of the redevelopment completed. New 13 Paediatrics ward and new surgical ward opened. |
Today Pindara has 269 beds and supports the Gold Coast Community with the delivery of excellent medical care. Pindara is renowned on the Gold coast for the delivery of high quality hospital services.
