As MINI Cooper’s first five-door model in the small car segment, the all-new MINI 5 Door Hatch is the highly anticipated addition to the MINI family, arriving with the brand’s premium style but with character that is very much its own. Firstly, the size. Thanks to its wheelbase expansion by just 72 millimetres, the MINI 5 Door Hatch has made space for three more passengers in the back, offering them more foot, head and body space than the new MINI. Don’t like to travel light? The luggage compartment is now 278 litres – 67 litres more than the three-door model – with an optional luggage compartment floor. This means bigger trips with the same small car luxuries. This model speaks the language of enjoyment, with a focus on delivering driving fun and comfort, as well as efficiency and safety. The very latest MINI Connected facilities, which integrate innovative smartphone applications into the vehicle, are the cornerstone of on-the-go entertainment and convenience. The MINI 5 Door Hatch also includes new generation engines and modelspecific features such as the driver assistance system, created just for its introduction. There are six model variants of the MINI 5 Door Hatch, including two petrol and two diesel MOTORING engines of the new generation available with MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology. The petrol models include the MINI Cooper One 5 Door Hatch with 75-kilowatt, threecylinder engine, the MINI Cooper 5 Door Hatch with 100-kilowatt, three-cylinder engine and the MINI Cooper S 5 Door Hatch with 141-kilowatt, four-cylinder engine. The MINI Cooper D 5 Door Hatch features an 85-kilowatt, three-cylinder diesel engine. Six-speed manual transmission is standard, the six-speed Steptronic transmission is optional, while the six-speed Steptronic Sport transmission is available for the MINI Cooper S 5 Door Hatch. To get behind the green movement, extensive MINIMALISM technology is optional, including auto stop/start and GREEN mode. Driving one of the 5 Doors is not unlike the addictive rush of a go-kart track, where manoeuvrability and technical steering capture the essence of the vehicle’s purpose: ease and agility. Electromechanical power steering with Servotronic function, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) are to thank for that.
