Pindara Private Hospital Magazine - Issue Four

Autumn 2015 FROM THE CEO From the CEO Trish Hogan CEO Pindara Private Hospital Nothing is more important than your health. When things go wrong and you or a loved one require hospitalisation, it is reassuring to know that high quality care is available locally. The range of services and standard of care we provide at Pindara Private Hospital has evolved and developed in response to the needs of the community and the changing expectations of our patients, who are increasingly more informed and discerning consumers of healthcare services. Today’s patient expects a private room with ensuite bathroom, and the experience of one-onone care. While the cost of providing the latter is prohibitive, our challenge is to deliver a service that is perceived by every individual patient as being focused on their unique needs. As the longest serving private hospital on the Gold Coast, we are now also the largest and most comprehensive. This means the mix of patients in our care on a daily basis is now more diverse than ever, and we have to work harder to ensure our patients' needs are met. Last year Pindara completed a fabulous new wing featuring beautiful, spacious, private rooms. We also added new operating theatres and new services – a Renal Unit and a Rehabilitation Unit – and we expanded our post operative recovery capacity. Just as our services have evolved and expanded in response to the needs of the community, so too do our standards. Our hospital staff are highly trained, have decades of experience and are dedicated to the task in hand. We are genuine in our commitment to care for our patients. As a patient in a private hospital you have a right to provide feedback about the level of care you receive. Constructive feedback from our patients helps us get it right and continue to improve. So, if you have a comment or concern about the level of care you receive in Pindara, or if you have a suggestion that will help us improve our service - we would like to hear from you! Feedback can be made through the Nurse Unit Manager of the ward you are in, or by contacting the Executive Office. With 2015 now in full swing, I wish you health and happiness for the year ahead, and if you need our care, you know you are in safe hands at Pindara Private Hospital.
