Cardiac services

Pindara Private Hospital offers an extensive range of cardiac services. Our modern spacious 12 bed Critical Care Unit comprises 7 Intensive Care beds and 5 Critical Care Unit beds, all with advanced monitoring equipment and facilities to manage any acute care patient, in a comfortable private environment.

The unit is staffed with cardiac and intensive care specialist nurses in accordance with the latest Cardiac Society and Intensive Care Society recommendations and they are committed to supporting both the patients and their relatives individual needs.

Cardiac Catheter Laboratory

Our Cardiac Catheter Laboratory offers 24 hour, 7 day a week emergency cover featuring state of the art technology specialising in a comprehensive range of procedures, with Specialist Cardiologists providing prompt diagnosis of heart disease by angiography. Once diagnosed, some specific heart diseases can be treated under local anaesthetic using up-to-date non-surgical technology including balloon angioplasty, coronary stenting and pacemakers.

Cardiac step down

Pindara offers ward accommodation for patients with medical conditions such as angina, arrhythmias and those recovering from heart attack with full telemetry monitoring capacity.

This ward is for those patients with medical conditions such as unstable angina and patients recovering following catheter lab procedures. This ward can cater for patients with full telemetry monitoring capacity enabling patients to move around the ward freely within hours of their procedure. The monitoring is visible to cardiac nurses at all times in the stepdown as well as coronary care unit.

Patients waiting to be discharged will receive specific education and referral to a rehabilitation program. You can be secure in the knowledge that Pindara’s dedicated and experienced Cardiac Care Team are working with some of the latest technology and we aim to provide you with the best care and treatment available.

Critical Care Unit

The Critical Care Unit is a specialised area with care delivered by dedicated and experienced nursing and medical staff. Medical support is provided by a team of specialist Coronary Care and Intensive Care Doctors, 24 hours per day.
