Pindara gets more car park spaces

July 2012

Finding a carpark space in and around a hospital has traditionally been a major headache for staff, doctors, patients and the public alike. Those who survive the struggle and succeed to score a carpark, find their good luck also comes at a price, as hefty parking fees are often the norm.

Parking problems and hefty fees have been a thing of the past at Pindara Private Hospital, since the hospital opened its multilevel carpark in 2010. Parking then became easily accessible, from Carrara Street, and more importantly was free. But expansion to the Hospital and the addition of adjacent Special Suites has seen the Pindara campus grow in popularity, to become one of the busiest healthcare precincts on the Gold Coast, and with that demand for carpark spaces has also increased.

To circumvent possible future parking problems, arising from future staged expansion of Pindara Private, construction work is underway to expand the Hospital’s multilevel carpark. The work, which commenced in May this year, is due to be competed in early October 2012 and will create an additional 240 car park spaces bringing the total number of car park spaces at Pindara to 700.

Priority has been given to patient and visitor parking, during the construction process, to ensure access to the Hospital and the adjacent specialist suites is not unnecessarily affected. A shuttle bus service has also been introduced to transport staff to and from work in safety.
