Pindara Private Hospital during the Commonwealth Games
Mar 22, 2018
Pindara Private Hospital is proud to be serving the Gold Coast community and visitors during the Commonwealth Games. The Hospital will continue to operate as usual during this time, offering a full suite of specialist services including a 24/7 Emergency Department. Pindara’s Benowa location, in the heart of the Gold Coast, is just minutes from popular holiday destinations such as Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach. It is easily accessible by main roads with easy access from all the major arterial roads of M1, Gold Coast Highway and Bundall Road. Our central location to many of the Commonwealth Games venues offers extra convenience for visitors here for the Games or other major events.
Pindara Private Hospital isn’t in a key Games precinct and there are no road closures in the surrounding area making it a convenient and easily accessible option for your health care. However, Gold Coast roads will be busy during this time. It is vital you allow plenty of time to arrive at your appointment ahead of schedule.
Pindara offers free, sheltered parking for the convenience of patients and visitors. Parking for patients, visitors and staff is available at the rear of the hospital (entry via Carrara Street) and there are a number of two hour parking areas available at the front of the hospital. There are two ‘set down’ parking bays for set down and collection of patient located at the front of the Hospital and two at the rear of the Hospital.
For urgent and life-threatening emergencies, please call 000 for an ambulance as per usual.
For all other emergencies, the Emergency Department at Pindara will operate as usual during the Games. For the convenience of patients, Pindara has an online clock updated in real-time with expected waiting times in the Emergency Department.
The closest major events that will take place in surrounding areas to the Hospital from 4 – 16 April 2018 include the Opening Ceremony, athletics, wrestling, and weightlifting in Carrara as well as the Festival 2018, netball preliminaries, basketball finals, and lawn bowls in Broadbeach. Visit getsetforthegames.com for a full list of road changes that may affect your journey to the Hospital.
Get Set for the Games has created a simple interactive map to provide further detail about how your journey could be affected. The online interactive local impacts map is not a journey planner and will not provide real-time information, but it will help pre-plan journeys for every day and hour of the Games.
